Hi LyB -
I totally agree, I can't make it through the week without splurging a little!

Hi Emiline -
Yeah, when I think about it now it seems so strange that I would do that. Normally I save my baking for the weekend. But they were good, and I got to bring some to work as a snack the next day. ;)

I've done some pretty crazy late night baking, myself. After you do it, you regret it. The later it gets, your judgement gets worse.

Pudding cookies are so worth it, though.

Those are some gorgeous cookies! And the amount of butter is very respectable considering all the oats in there; you have to splurge a little once in a while!

Hi Evelin -
Can't say that I've ever had a craving like that at 2 am! But with a dessert with that name I don't think I'd have a choice but to go and make it ... and have a nice big piece at about 3 am! ;)

Hi White on Rice Couple -
I know what you mean, whenever I used to buy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies at the store there were never enough oats in it to satisfy my craving for that oatmeal taste. Luckily making it at home I can just overload it. Although I have to admit, once I did a batch that was too much oatmeal (didn't think that was possible) so now I have the recipe right at that point where for me it is just right! :)

Hi M -
I think this recipe will work well for you. You may want to consider spooning out half of the batter on to the pan for your husband then either adding a little sugar or extra chocolate chips for your son. Unless your son is like me and doesn't like things too sweet. In that case it should work as is for everyone. ;)

With a husband with diabetes and a teenager who loves chocolate, I think this will be just the recipe for everyone's taste! Thanks for the healthier changes of no additional sugar and the whole wheat which really seems to keep the blood sugar down.
