Yanagi Sushi – Late Night Specials

Yanagi Sushi..one of my favorite late night eateries. Just like Kat, I usually do some sort of eating out over the weekend.

A perfect Friday for me goes something like this:

1. Productive day at work
2. No traffic on the way home
3. Two hour nap
4. Update blog
5. Late night dinner at Yanagi Sushi

What I like so much about Yanagi is their delicious Japanese food and cheap prices from 10:30 pm – 2:00 am. Because everything is cheaper at this hour, we can order to our hearts’ content. Here’s a look at what we had this past weekend….

The picture up top is an appetizer of bean sprout namul, seasoned hijiki seaweed, and soybeans.

Also complimentary are two types of tsukemono…my favorite is the pink one!

Miso soup with tofu, green onions, and little pieces of aburage (deep fried tofu)

Salmon skin salad – grilled salmon skin, kaiware sprouts, and onions with ponzu sauce ($3.95)

Fresh salmon with Maui onion and tobiko ($4.95)

Unagi Donburi ($9.95)

Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura/Chicken Teriyaki combination meal ($8.95)

If perhaps you are like one of my coworkers and wish to eat before 10:30 pm, Yanagi has some great combination meals for the non-nocturnal as well. Between 5:30 – 10:30 pm you can get a 2 choice combination dinner for $18.95 or 3 choices for $23.95.

But I won’t give up on trying to get her to come out with us for the cheap specials…at least not yet. Really, all you need is an afternoon nap when you get home from work!
