Thank you and a meme!

A big thank you to Elle for passing along this “Blogging with a Purpose” award to me. According to her post, this award is designed to commend blog writers that are thoughtfully sharing their insights with the rest of the world. Thank you!

Another big thank you goes out to Pixie for choosing Made Healthier as a “Yummy Blog”! As we say in Hawaii, mahalo Pixie!
What I would like to do now is direct you to My Favorite Blogs page. Here you will find a wide variety of wonderfully yummy blogs that are all blogging with a purpose. Please support these hard working bloggers, enjoy!
There is a really interesting meme going around that follow these basic rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the next three sentences
I tried this out with a couple of my nearby books such as An Offering of Rice and The Future of Ideas
. However, the resulting sentences really made no sense or impact out of context.
So instead I’ll give you a little teaser from another book off of our bookshelf called The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. I know with a title like this it sounds like a boring book geared towards CEOs and managers. But I think this is a really interesting and well written book, even for those who are not currently in an official leadership position.
I’m always into reading or learning things to better myself. And really, if you are a parent or teacher, or anyone that supervises others at work or in the community, you have the opportunity to be a great leader to those around you. And if anything else, you can read this so that when the day comes that you do have a leadership role, you will be a little more prepared. Take a look and see if this also interests you!
Excerpt from the book jacket:
Find out why…
- Henry Ford nearly sent his own company into bankruptcy
- Some entrepreneurs receive plenty of money from venture capitalists while others can’t get a dime
- Coca-Cola’s stock held strong even when its CEO suddenly died
- An unknown pastor in a developing country grew the size of his church from 700 to 14,000 people in seven years
- The Law of the Lid is the most important leadership principle you will ever learn

Hi kat,
and thanks also for the meme idea!
Thank you
Congrats on this award too! We’re working on your meme that you tagged us with. Hopefully we can get it up by the weekend!
Congrats on your awards! I stumbled (using StumbleUpon) on your blog recently and I’ve throughly enjoyed it.
Nice Meme too… here’s what I ended up with, not bad either.
“You ought to be down on your knees thanking God for your alibi now, even if you weren’t before. You do realize this makes you look even tastier as a suspect don’t you?”
“I suppose in a way it does,” Thad agreed.

Hi White On Rice Couple,
Looking forward to it!
Hi Lynne,
Welcome to the site and great job with the meme. It was very effective. It made me go on to Google just now to look up the full summary of the book!
