Barbecue in Waikiki

If you had asked me three weeks ago what I thought my summer would be like, I would’ve said very relaxing and pretty much non-eventful. Funny how things can turn out so different than planned. These last couple weeks I have been going out to eat and partying more than I can ever remember (hence the recent shortage of recipe posts).
Last weekend we went to a barbecue in Waikiki where we enjoyed lots and lots of food, drinks, singing, and laughing. It was an interesting mix of local people from Hawaii along with old and new friends visiting from Tokyo. One of the funniest and most interesting people I met there was a restaurant owner/chef from Tokyo…boy could he belt out a tune! Hopefully I’ll get to return to Japan soon and visit him at his restaurant!
And now, the barbecue food pics…

nice!
That looks amazing! Just amazing!
Hey kat and noble pig,
Thanks! There was so much food…I still feel full just looking at the pictures!
I’m envious of that barbecue grill! We had such a hard time deciding what type /size of grill to get that we just bought a rinky-dink model on impulse. I know that it’ll probably fall apart after summer at the rate that we’ll be using it. You guys lucky that you got 4th of July coming up!
That looks like a tasty barbecue!
Hi rowena,
It was a really nice big grill. It was in the terrace area of a hotel, the kind that you put in some coins to turn on. I also grew up with the small kine hibachi.
Hi Kevin,
It was very tasty…I think I ate too much!
