Miyako Restaurant

Miyako Restaurant

For special occasions such as wedding anniversaries, we usually go to one of the fine dining restaurants around Oahu. The other day being our 5th wedding anniversary, we were going to do the same ‘ol thing but at the last minute decided to try a Japanese place instead. We had a coupon for Miyako restaurant in Waikiki so we agreed to give it a try, I’m really glad we did!

Asahi, Kirin, and Sapporo beers are really popular in Hawaii. I’m not much of a drinker but I occasionally do taste what others are drinking. This was the first time I ever had a taste of Yebisu Beer. It was pretty good, I especially liked the label!

We got two set meals and decided to share everything. Here are the menu and food pics…

Hi kat,
The dinner was really good, it reminded me of Japan and all those lunches and dinners you share about on your site. ;)

I can’t wait to get back to Waikiki and try these places.

Hi noble pig,
Hope you get to come visit soon! :)

My co-workers want to know… Was the fishing reel a surprise gift? It would be “so romantic,” if you guys both got each other a fishing reel without each other knowing. (One of my co-worker is a romantic and so sweet. — You’ll meet her in October!)

Anyways, your pictures are making us drool.

Hey Kristy,
He had actually been hinting for at least half a year for this reel. Luckily it went on sale a couple weeks before our anniversary so we got it then. After I played around with his at home I was like, “I want one too!”. So he went back later to get me one. We used to do surprise kind gifts but later found out that we are happier if we just choose what we want. :D

Hey Lori! Oh boy, I have been missing in action! :) The food looks great! How’s the parking for Miyako?

Hi jenny,
The parking was valet, something like $4 plus tip. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Hey Lori,
I just read your comment back. Yep, I really like surprises… but most times it’s best to get what you want. I actually just got my birthday gift. It’s a Wii Fit. I’ll let you know how that goes. My BMI is actually healthy, but always room from improvement.
