Marion Crepes: Get ‘em while they’re here!

Marion Crepes

Have you ever tried these famous crepes from Harajuku, Japan? I’ve known about them for a while but didn’t get a chance to try them the last time I was in Tokyo. I’m so glad that they came over to Hawaii to do a food demonstration this month!

We shared the strawberry chocolate flavor with ice cream, so good!

If you’re in Hawaii and this looks like something you’d want to try, be sure to stop by Shirokiya before the 20th!

Hey kat,
I actually heard about them through YouTube vlogs and a couple TV shows. You should try them if you’re ever in the area. :)

Hi Kevin,
They were really good, especially since we got the one with ice cream! :D

Thanks for the heads up! Hey, did you say that you could get chicory coffee in China town (from Genki Tummy’s blog?)? Is that in the China town here? Could you tell me where? I love chicory coffee!!

Hi michelle,
You’re welcome! And the Cafe Du Monde coffee is in the Oahu China town. I usually go to King Street, around the intersection with Mauna Kea, on the mauka side of the street. They are in almost every food store along King Street in that area. Just go in and look for the rows of orange coffee cans. It’s really easy to spot since they stand out.

Those crepes look delicious! I wish I were home to try them. Darn it! If only I had booked an earlier flight.

Hi lauren,
Shucks, the only other place that I know of here that has similar looking crepes is a stand in the outlet mall at Waikele. I’m sure you’ll have lots of other ono food to enjoy while you’re here though! :)

Thanks for this post! I have tried crepes in Harajuku, I remember it was one of the things we HAD to do when I took a college trip to Tokyo (too many years ago!). Now I just need to convince hubby that we need to go to Shirokiya this week.

Hi Fran M.,
You’re welcome. You are so lucky that you got to try it in Harajuku. Shirokiya doesn’t have as many flavors as Japan, but the flavor that we got was still really ono! :D

Harajuku? As in the song Harajuku Girls by Gwen Stefani?

You guys are getting all of the great international eats…I’m jealous!

I checked their website and they are all over Japan, even in Taiwan, Singapore, Korea and Hong Kong :) Will see if there is anything close by.

Hey rowena,
Yup, that’s the same Harajuku!

Hey kat,
I hope there is one near you in Osaka! :)

Yum! Wish I was able to get some of those.

Hi Lori,
Thanks for the tip!

Hi Lisa,
I hope something similar comes through your area soon! :)

Hi michelle,
You’re welcome, I hope you get to try it soon. And by the way they’re pretty cheap. Last time I checked (last year) it was somewhere around $5.00 for a can. ;)

I just got back from Japan on Sunday, visited Harajuku during my stay. However, I was too full from lunch when I went past the famous crepe stand so I skipped it. I’M GOING TO SHIROKIYA! Thanks for letting us know.

Hi Mikky,
That’s great that you got to try it in Hong Kong!

Hi Linda,
You’re welcome, I’m glad you’ll get to try it at home. :D
