Night Fishing: Checking out the south shore

By the time we got up and going the other day, it was pretty late. And what else to do but go night fishing! I really enjoy this because it’s so much cooler and no chance of sunburn!
It was a slow night though, not too many bites. At least it was a really beautiful night. Above is a shot of the south shore with Diamond Head on the right. That was my view during this evening of fishing.
While waiting around for the bell to go off, we had some sushi handrolls that we had picked up from Ward Warehouse. We had a tuna roll, tobiko roll, California roll, and unagi roll. We already ate the tuna one before I remembered to take a picture. My favorite was the unagi roll, as usual. I always love me some eel!

The only thing that I brought out of the water that night was this little guy. He was up on land long enough for a photo op, then was quickly returned back to swim another day.

Thanks kat, I love that night time Diamond Head view too, so relaxing!
Gorgeous view and great little recap of the fishing!! I’m so envious!!!! What you use for bait?
Hey rowena,
I was using mostly shrimp on that night.
I have never done night fishing but have always wanted too! How fun and great catch.
So sorry you didn’t catch anything bigger, but with that view, who cares? Stunning!
Wow! Awesome night photo (and what a cute little guy! Any ideas what he was?). Thanks for the tip on China Town coffee!
Hi noble pig,
You should try it, it’s lots of fun. I like it much better than daytime fishing as long as we’re in a safe area.
Hi Elle,
My thoughts too!
Hi michelle,
It’s called upapalu, they are really common at night around our nearshore areas.
