A Healthier Breakfast Sandwich with Morning Star

Healthy Breakfast Sandwich

Here is a nice quick way to start off your morning – or in my case since I’m not really a morning person, to end a day of work.

I’m not particularly a fan of Boca Burgers or other veggie patties. But when I tried this sample at Costco I was instantly hooked!

Morning Star Sausage Patties

Here’s the box and nutrition info.

Morning Star Sausage Patties

The spices used in this meatless sausage patty make it taste very close to the real thing. In an english muffin with a slice of cheese, I can hardly tell the difference between it and it’s counterpart at McDonalds.

All I do is microwave one of the patties for 45-50 seconds (over a minute and it’s a hockey puck) then put it on a toasted english muffin with a slice of fat free sharp cheddar.

So fast and tasty!

I’ll have to try these. I like veggie burgers but not the fake meat ones.

Hi Lisa,
I hope you like them as much as I did!

Hi shaka sherry,
That’s a great idea using whole wheat english muffins!

Hi kat,
When I eat out I often still eat real sausage too…especially Portuguese sausage! :D

I’ll have to try this one, really low-cal.

Thank you for this post Lori! I’ve been wanting to try these meatless varieties, but have not had the guts to. I will take you up on this and try the sausage! :)

Hi noble pig and jenny,
I hope you guys like it!

Ha! I think I saw that at Costco and thought it might be worth a try but…I need to plow through the stockpile of breakfast/sandwich meats in my dad’s fridge first. Then follow up by trying to attack the cheese!

Hey rowena,
Yeah, give it a try if you use up all those portuguese – and I’m guessing other kinds of ono sausages and meats that your dad has in the fridge!

These are great! I too create my own sausage, egg and cheese with these and they are tastier than anything you could ever get at any fast food chain.

Hi DD,
Great to hear from another fan of these patties. Thanks for stopping by! :)
