Make Your Own Puff Pastry Dessert

After Sunday dinner at my parents’ house this past weekend, we tried something new. I brought over a box of frozen puff pastry shells to fool around with. My mom got together some filling/topping choices and we had a do-it-yourself dessert bar.
Here are the frozen puff pastry shells on their way into the oven.

And now out of the oven, all puffed up with the tops removed…

I went for the simple yet tasty plain apple pie filing.

My mom had the healthy version with bananas and blueberries.

One of my brothers got apple pie filling with blueberries on top.

And the rest of the guys in the house couldn’t be bothered so they just dumped the puff pastry shell, a scoop of apple pie filling, and a scoop of ice cream into a bowl! They weren’t going for looks but I think these turned out to be the tastiest!

mmm that looks great, I have some puff pastry in my freezer, how did you make that hole in the center?
Hey kat,
These are actually puff pastry shells, not sheets. I didn’t even know they had these until the day I bought them. They come already cut like that second photo. So when it comes out of the oven you just pop off the top because the hole was already scored in the frozen product.
Those look good! I’ve never bought the shells before, only the sheets. Maybe I’ll organize a dessert bar social for my apartment and make those shells!
I love puff pastry. This is very creative! I love the ideal of a make-your-own puff pastry bar.
Oh yum and simple and easy! Good idea.
Those look so delicious. I just love puff-pastry
Yum
Hey lauren,
I bet this would go over well, kind of like your gingerbread party!
Hi sugarlens and noble pig,
It was really fun, you should try it one day.
Hi Healthy Weight Loss,
