Kilauea Bakery and Pau Hana Pizza…and fishing!

After brunch at Hamura’s, we made our way around the island to Kilauea and the Kong Lung Center. Here we stopped by to check out Kilauea Bakery & Pau Hana Pizza. I had been wanting to try the pizza so we shared the veggie slice above. I really enjoyed it and loved that they had artichoke hearts as a topping!

After that quick snack we continued driving around stopping at some beaches…

And did a little impromptu hand pole fishing on the side of the road.

We picked up some line, small hooks, and a couple shrimp at Foodland – then tied in on a stick I found at the beach (since we didn’t bring our poles with us)! It looked pretty funny but it worked!

It’s been nearly4 years since I’ve been to Pau Hana so I’m relieved to hear that the pizzas are still good. Your makeshift fishing has got to be the best thing I’ve read this morning….and the fact that you even got fish!! I can’t wait to go back ^-^
RE: on your comment on the blog. I tell you, this weird summer-like temps that we are experiencing now just pushed gardening up front and forward. So much to do, but so worth it when there’s ice cold beer at the end of the day.
Hey Rowena,
My mom was laughing so much when I told her what I did with the fishing stick. But I tell you, the little branch worked so well that I kept the stick for the rest of the trip in the car and we caught even more with it later!
